Oh, So Now Steve Harvey Is Sorry For Cozying Up To Trump?
Black celebrities from Ben Vereen to Wilt Chamberlain have identified themselves with Republicans and survived. But this is different.
11.06.17 5:00 AM ET
“I walked away feeling like I had just talked with a man who genuinely wants to make a difference in this area. I feel that something really great could come out of this,” said Harvey of his meeting with Trump.
Harvey basked in the glory of meeting with a man who rose to prominence as a “birther” and elevated white supremacists to the highest levels of power. For months, Harvey defended his decision to meet with Trump and only now that it could potentially ruin his career he has seen the error in his ways. Harvey’s no longer a person worth listening to.
Frankly, Harvey had already stopped being funny back in June, after he told a man from Flint, Michigan, who called into his radio show to “enjoy your nice brown glass of water.”
Harvey gets it now. “Meeting with Donald Trump was the worst mistake of my life,” he recently said on his radio show. But he has a lot of work to do to win back black support.
Ben Carson was loved by black America when he was the brain surgeon from Johns Hopkins who wrote inspirational books for black children. But all of his credibility quickly evaporated once he started criticizing President Barack Obama. His clueless political statements, stunningly moronic presidential campaign, and friendship with Trump only further solidified his exile from and ridicule within the black community. Carson seems uninterested in making amends and working to earn back the support he once had. He’s chosen a new team.
Harvey and Carson deserve their ostracism. But not everyone does. In recent years, the most dramatic and controversial shunning a black celebrity has received from the black community is also the most tragic and unjust.

Failure, Sex, Lies And A Moron Are Destroying The GOP
By Demetrius Harris
The party of “family values” has fallen on hard times. The Republican Party as we know it has been transformed into the worst representation of government in our modern history. Led by a moral abomination, Donald Trump, the GOP has molded itself in the image of its inept leader and become fodder for late night comedy, resignations, impeachment and federal prison.
From the buffoonery of Donald Trump to the accusations of pedophilia against Alabama Judge Roy Moore, conservative politics are imploding, and everyone seems to understand that, except those in the middle of the meltdown. Denials, delusions, and lies are the new normal for the GOP as American citizens realize that the grand old party isn’t so grand anymore.
Roy Moore and his Alabama contingent have proven themselves to be tone deaf, insensitive and tragically stupid. Take the case of Alabama GOP State Rep. Ed Henry, who dared to say that the purported victims of Roy Moore should be prosecuted for not coming forward sooner with their accusations. Sexual abuse is at the forefront of the American consciousness, following the fallout from the Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein revelations, among others that seem to emerge every day.
Women are displaying immense courage and fortitude to break their silence and should be encouraged to tell their truths not vilified.
Then there’s Republican National Committeeman, Paul Reynolds, who incredibly opined that ‘if he had to choose who to place his welfare in, The Washington Post – who reported the Roy Moore story – or Putin, he’d choose Putin every time.’ Consider that for a moment. A representative of our government, went on record saying he trusted a foreign adversary that has been proven to interfere with our democratic elections, who has journalists murdered, over a member of American media.
This madness was offered as our resident Moron in Chief and his illicit underlings, are being investigated for colluding with Russia. Is that coincidental, ironic or full-fledged lunacy?
If that bit of brilliance doesn’t make your blood boil, contemplate
what may be the coup de grace, offered by Alabama state auditor, Jim
Ziegler, who delved into the realm of religious insanity, by first
comparing Moore’s alleged courtship of a 14 year old girl, to the
biblical relationship between Joseph and Mary. Just to make his position
clear, Ziegler doubled down on his idiocy by insisting there was
nothing immoral or illegal about a 32 year old man seducing a teenager.
Evangelicals all across the state of Alabama echo his sick sentiment.
It’s these same evangelicals who have empowered Donald Trump and
continue to support his residency after he conned them into believing
he was a man of faith.
Led by cowardly Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell the GOP is also trying to get a tax plan approved, that they’ve gone out their way to mislead American citizens about. McConnell was caught lying about tax relief for the middle class and Republicans have tried to include a repeal of the ACA under the radar. Lying and deceit have become the most prevalent calling card of the party.
Trump nominated Brett Talley for a federal judgeship, in spite of the fact that Talley has never even tried a case in court as a lawyer. You read that right. He’s never tried a case. Never filed a motion. He passed a Senate vote 11-9. Guess who holds the majority seats in the Senate? The GOP of course.
Sensing a pattern yet? Talley is also a staunch supporter of the NRA, so much so that he characterized the Obama administration’s call for background checks for prospective gun owners and proposed limitations on rapid-fire weapons as ‘the greatest attack on our constitutional freedoms in our lifetime.’ Federal judges are appointed for life. How can anyone be comfortable with Donald Trump – dumb as the day is long Donald Trump that is – populating our justice system with his hand-picked judges? He isn’t remotely qualified to do so, as evidenced by the numerous firings, resignations and significantly substandard results of his cabinet and staff.
The Lying King himself, under investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller – regardless of his denials and obliviousness- is poised to go down in history not merely as the most corrupt, poisonous and boneheaded president but also potentially as a foreign compromised treasonous snake. He may very well be the first president fitted for a prison jumpsuit along with his son Donald Jr. and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Trump ignores Radical Christian Extremists while praising bigots as fine people. Demands to put gun reform on the table are met with claims of “too soon” while he waits about 15 seconds to call our Federal court system a joke when prosecuting terrorists. He insults the families of fallen soldiers, ignores social issues, calls for police brutality and assails the media. Donald Trump is a cancer.
Trump and the GOP are protected by Fox News, who deemed the recent democratic takeover election results as unworthy of report. Fox disgustingly promotes debunked conspiracy theories, floated by Trump and distort the facts of his presidency. We have to ask ourselves if Republicans are beginning to believe the propaganda that Fox distributes to the public because they seemingly have no grasp on reality and their public perception.
As each day goes by the GOP shovels another pound of dirt into their political grave while peeling back every layer of their deceptive practices. They are led by and follow in the footsteps of lunatic who has no respect or understanding of democracy.
Donald Trump is leading the Republican Party to slaughter and as Tuesday’s elections demonstrated, America is more than happy to aim our own weapons of mass destruction, our votes, directly at the heart of the GOP. #RESIST

Donald Trump is a traitor to all things American. He has come right out and said on Veterans Day no less, that he believes the word of former KGB killer Vladimir Putin, over the universal findings of U.S. intelligence. He says this with a straight face, even as indictments are being handed down by Robert Mueller. Donald Trump is an absolute disgrace to this country and has been long before he took office. Resignation or impeachment will not be enough punishment for his treason. Donald Trump belongs in a prison cell along with other members of his dimwitted crime family.

Another Tuesday Night Loser: The Overrated Steve Bannon
After Ed Gillespie lost, the shaggy alt-righter and his
followers immediately denounced him as ‘establishment.’ Yeah, right. And
if Gillespie had won, running the same campaign...
11.08.17 11:54 AM ET
A few observers have recently suggested Steve Bannon is overrated.
Tuesday night’s results in Virginia only reinforce this view. Bannon
backed Republican gubernatorial nominee Ed Gillespie, saying that it was
his embrace of Trump policies that gave him a shot at winning (in
fairness, I thought Gillespie had a real shot, too).
He also raved about Jill Holtzman Vogel,
the GOP’s lieutenant governor candidate. “She is just fantastic… She’s
just a fire-breathing populist,” he said. They both went down in flames.
In the immediate aftermath of Gillespie’s loss, Breitbart.com (Bannon’s outlet) blared headlines calling Gillespie a “swamp creature” and part of the “establishment.”
Joel B. Pollak, senior editor-at-large at Breitbart News, wrote that it would be wrong to view this race as a repudiation of Trumpism. Instead, he writes, “It would be more accurate to point out that, once again, the Republican establishment came up short. Someone in the Gillespie campaign actually thought it would be a good idea to campaign with Condoleezza Rice — who, for all her merits, is a relic of the George W. Bush administration.”
That’s what they’re saying now. But if Gillespie had won by running the exact same campaign playbook, they would be praising him as a populist hero, and touting this as a positive referendum on Trumpism.
This gives us a clue as to how Bannon operates. He swoops in and stakes his claim. If his candidate wins, he claims credit. If his candidate loses, it’s because they never really had enough revolutionary fervor. They are then airbrushed out of the pictures. Only successes end up on the resume.
Recently, Bannon latched onto Roy Moore after it was pretty clear he would defeat Luther Strange in Alabama’s Senate primary. This gave the impression that he was some sort of kingmaker. Bannon probably also helped scare Senators Bob Corker and Jeff Flake into an early retirement. But while he might be good at spotting, co-opting, and even enflaming these pre-existing conditions and populist uprisings, he is not leading them.
The
truth is, he doesn’t even have to. In the past, Breitbart and Bannon
have backed numerous losing causes and candidates. He knows that batting
.300 gets you into Cooperstown. Now, he’s working to primary every
incumbent Republican senator.
Bannon doesn’t have to have a winning record to scare people into
changing the way they talk or campaign—or even into retiring. And he’s
not at all worried that his impact will lead to more Democrats winning.
Make no mistake, that’s going to happen. Yes, we will see more populist Bannonite Republicans elected in places like Alabama--and maybe even states like Ohio, but we will also see more and more Democrats elected in states like Virginia.
The moral of the story for Republicans is that Trumpism is toxic in diverse areas full of educated suburbanites. As these regions continue to grow (and as the areas where Trump performs well continue to shrink), Republicans will face the demographic crisis we’ve been warning about for years.
This was always going to be a challenge for Republicans, but Trump and Bannon have exacerbated the problem.
Roy Moore can win in deep-red Alabama; he can’t win in purple Virginia.

Come back and lie to us about why you lied to us
11.02.17
Court documents show that there was a March 31, 2016, “national security meeting” in Washington, D.C., involving candidate Trump and other advisors, where Papadopoulos explained that he had connections to the Russian government and he offered to “help arrange a meeting between then-candidate Trump and [Russian] President Putin.”
Then-Senator Sessions, serving as chairman of the campaign’s national security team, also attended this meeting, sitting just a few seats away from Papadopoulos. Sessions reportedly “shut down” Papadopoulos and asserted that the topic should not be discussed again.
Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), a leading member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has confronted the Attorney General in two hearings this year about his communications with individuals with connections to the Russian government in the context of concerns that members of the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin in its efforts to elect Donald Trump.
Leahy’s statement follows:]
“Attorney General Sessions needs to come back before the Senate Judiciary Committee. The description of the March 2016 meeting contained in unsealed court documents is impossible to reconcile with the Attorney General’s appearance before the Judiciary Committee just two weeks ago.
In that hearing, he again testified under oath that he was not aware of any communications between individuals affiliated with the Trump campaign and Russian officials. The Attorney General was already given an opportunity to correct his earlier misleading answers to me and Senator Franken in January through written, supplemental testimony.
Yet he only continued to mislead. He now needs to come back before the Committee, in person, under oath, to explain why he cannot seem to provide truthful, complete answers to these important and relevant questions.”
Leahy: AG Sessions Must Return To Judiciary Committee For Under-Oath Testimony To Address New Revelations
[On Monday, unsealed court records revealed that George Papadopoulos – former foreign policy advisor to the Trump campaign – pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about interactions with Russian agents during the 2016 campaign.Court documents show that there was a March 31, 2016, “national security meeting” in Washington, D.C., involving candidate Trump and other advisors, where Papadopoulos explained that he had connections to the Russian government and he offered to “help arrange a meeting between then-candidate Trump and [Russian] President Putin.”

Insider: Betsy DeVos' Days Are Numbered.
"In a comprehensive profile, Politico said billionaire evangelical
Christian DeVos has found herself stymied by the bureaucratic restraints
on her job, but that bringing about change in Washington requires
“time, patience and government savvy — three things she does not have.”
DeVos, said Politico’s Tim Alberta, is on a “religiously infused journey to reimagine the relationship between government, parents, teachers and schools.” The Secretary wants to allow parents more freedom to withdraw their children from public schools and enroll them in charter schools, religious schools and private schools.
What makes DeVos radical is she wants federal tax dollars to follow those children out of the public school system. One problem with implementing her plan is that public schools receive very little of their funding from the federal government. Another is her overall unpopularity and ineffectiveness.
Her first budget proposal for the department — one which would have slashed funding from multiple school programs and reapportioned that money to DeVos’ pet cause, “school choice” — was rejected by Congress.
Now, with her agenda on the rocks and morale at the Education Department cratering, some predict that DeVos may return to the private sector sooner than she’d planned."

Today's Terrorist Attack Changes Nothing (And, Unlike Gun Massacres, It Shouldn't)
Posted by
Rude One
Some cunt from Florida rented a Home Depot pickup truck and cuntishly drove it into a bike path in Lower Manhattan, killing and injuring people. Then that cuny, who is probably a crazy cunt, started shooting with a pellet gun because he's a pathetic cunt, and then he yelled, "God is great" in Arabic, which is a cunty thing to do in this situation, but this cunt is a total cunt who then got shot in his cunt ass (literally, in his ass) before being arrested.
It's frightening. It's awful. Our hearts should go out to the families of the dead and wounded. We should look at some enhanced safety measures, maybe some barricades. We should make sure that mental health care is available to people who need it. And that's pretty much it.
Except, see, conservative politicians are gonna go apeshit, as usual, demanding crackdowns and bans and more. It's the exact opposite of what they want to do when there is a gun massacre, which is tell everyone to shut the fuck up about guns and la-la-la-I-can't-hear-you-with-the-NRA's-dick-in-my-ears.
The difference between this attack and a gun massacre is that no amount of regulation of cars is going to prevent some fucknut from slamming into people. But gun regulations can (and do) limit the number of gun deaths. In fact, if the aforementioned cunt had had a real gun, many more people could have been harmed.
This is New York City. We will absorb this and go on, whatever this dumb shit did. The Greenwich Village Halloween parade is going on as I write this, a wonderful, debaucherous event that is an affront to the fundamentalists of every faith. Tomorrow, I guarantee there will be bikers and joggers back in the area. Because the cunts don't get to win. And the politicians don't terrorize us.
We live in an incredibly safe period in American history, despite the Fox "news" and Infowars freakout lies about BLM rioters and Antifa executioners. Shit is gonna happen, but a whole lot of shit needs to happen to move us out of living in an incredibly safe time.
When we can do something about violence (like gun laws, like dealing with poverty, like punching Nazis - oh, wait, scratch that one), we should. But every shithead with a credit card and directions to the Home Depot is never gonna be stopped. Pause, mourn, move on.
We don't need to give the bastards more power. The terrorist bastards and the politician bastards.

Trump Still Hasn’t Released His Tax Returns, What’s He Hiding?
It has been nearly a year since Donald Trump won the electoral vote to
become resident, and he is still refusing to release his tax returns.
The only logical explanation is that he’s hiding information that he
doesn’t want us to see. We have to demand better from our elected
officials, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.
Ivanka Trump Says American Workers Are The “Best”, Still Has Her Products Made Overseas
During an interview on Fox News, Ivanka Trump claimed that both her and
her father believe that American workers are the absolute “best” in the
world.
If that’s the case, why do both Ivanka and Donald have the products for their clothing lines made overseas?
It has nothing to do with tax codes, as Ivanka claims, and has everything to do with paying slave wages to workers. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

NFL Owner On Protests: "We Can’t Have The Inmates Running The Prison"
During a meeting to address the NFL players protesting during the
national anthem, the owner of the Houston Texans said something that
really upset players. Cenk Uygur, John Iadarola, Francesca Fiorentini,
and Judah Friedlander, the hosts of The Young Turks, explain the fallout
from his comments.
HOUSTON -- Some Texans players considered staging a walkout following a comment by team owner Bob McNair that compared NFL players to "inmates," a source told ESPN.
About 10 players, including Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, left the facility Friday, the source said. Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Hopkins' absence from practice was directly related to McNair's comment. Running back D'Onta Foreman also did not practice over the quote, sources told ESPN.
Most of the players who left returned to the facility, the source said, and the remaining players were talked out of their protest by the coaching staff. "When it happened, there's a thousand emotions going through your mind," left tackle Duane Brown said. "Obviously, one of the emotions is to leave the building immediately. [But] we decided to go to work. The situation's not over. It's something that we'll reconvene and talk about again, but we had practice today."
Texans coach Bill O'Brien said Hopkins had taken a "personal day." "I'm 100 percent with these players," O'Brien said. "I love these players, I love this coaching staff. We will show up in Seattle and play. We will play very hard. Seattle is a great football team with a great coaching staff. But we will be there when the ball is kicked off in Seattle."

Impeachment Ad Triggers Fox News Fans
Fox & Friends viewers were livid over an ad that ran during the
show. Cenk Uygur, John Iadarola, Francesca Fiorentini, and Judah
Friedlander, the hosts of The Young Turks, show you the impeachment ad.
"Billionaire Democratic mega-donor Tom Steyer is spending over $10 million to run a national advertisement calling for Trump's impeachment. Steyer made his fortune as a hedge fund manager. In 2016, he spent $65 million supporting Democrats and environmental causes, including Martin O'Malley.
Steyer is considering challenging Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein in California, he's also mulling a 2020 presidential run.
In the ad, Steyer calls Trump "a clear and present danger" who is "mentally unstable" and armed with nuclear weapons. Friday morning Trump attacked Steyer on Twitter calling him "wacky and totally unhinged."

First charges filed in Mueller investigation
By Pamela Brown, Evan Perez and Shimon Prokupecz, CNN

Washington (CNN)
A
federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first
charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller,
according to sources briefed on the matter.
The
charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge. Plans were
prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as
Monday, the sources said. It is unclear what the charges are.
A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.
Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Under
the regulations governing special counsel investigations, Deputy
Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has oversight over the Russia
investigation, would have been made aware of any charges before they
were taken before the grand jury for approval, according to people
familiar with the matter.

Crazed Republican Congressman Runs From CNN Reporter Yelling “You’re Fake News!”
Republican Congressman Paul Gosar has been pushing some wild conspiracy
theories recently, and when a CNN reporter finally got the chance to
question Gosar about his claims, he decided to yell at the reporter
saying “You’re fake news” before running away down the hallway.
This is the kind of behavior that Trump has normalized since becomingresident,
as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins points out.
